An Update by Starview – 6 April 2020

The Singapore Government have announced last Friday, 3 April 2020 that only essential services will be made available from 7 April – 4 May 2020.
Starview International has been given the approval to continue its operation till further notice. Given these measures imposed by the authorities, we would like to provide a further update on the list of products & services available.

Orders Processing & Delivery

All purchases will have to be given with a purchase order or a signed acknowledgment of the quotation.
Processing time will be slower than usual as we are operating at a reduced operational staff count. The average processing time for purchases will be 2 business days.
Deliveries will only be available to offices or locations that are still operational. A delivery charge of S$20 will be imposed on purchase amount under s$1000.
Self-collection can only be done in our office if you have received our acknowledgment to do so. Health Declaration & Contact Tracing APP are mandatory before admission for collection.

Sales Enquiry / Quotation

The Starview Sales team are all equipped with remote working facilities and will be able to respond to your sales enquiries. We are still functional from our respective locations to provide an answer to your queries.

For the Employees

All Starview staff are equipped with remote working facilities from home or anywhere else where there’s connectivity. Staff working in office practice social distancing measures. They are required to have their temperature taken twice daily before & after work and proper hand sanitisation upon reaching or leaving office. Those that are unwell are told to rest at home and refrain from all work activities for 5 days. All our staff have not gone overseas or to affected countries for the past 14 days or more

For Business Partners

As part of our business continuity plans, we at Starview continue to serve our partners and customers with our main products & services with upmost availability. We have a few production lines from different factories to ensure that our manufactured products e.g Fiber Transceivers (SFP, SFP+, QSFP etc) & Accessories are made available whenever possible with minimal disruption. Production volume will be slowed by the current situation and we do not encourage rushed shipments as higher freight cost will be incurred by air carriers and these charges may be transferred to you.

We are pleased to announce that our STARPOD is now capable to tune the DWDM wavelengths of our SFP+ modules.

You can now download this software from our webpage at www.starviewint.com. With the ease and flexibility of connecting the STARPOD to your computer, you can tune the SFP+ to your desired DWDM wavelengths without relying on the network equipment in operation. Known as Asia’s largest integrated info-communications technology event, CommunicAsia ended positively with international trade attendees having the opportunity to network, witness the launch of several latest innovations, engage in business opportunities and gained insightful knowledge. The 4-day event which spans across 3 levels of Marina Bay Sands, Singapore attracted over 33,000 international trade attendees.

Starview International participated in this show with a booth space of 3m x 5m and launched the First in the world Programmable Optical Device called STARPOD.

STARPOD eases the customer’s worry of using multiple transceiver modules to interwork with many different equipment vendors e.g. CISCO, HP, Juniper and etc. With STARPOD, the user simply key in the license key obtained from Starview International authorized partner/ reseller, and program the Starview transceiver modules (SFP/ SFP+/ XFP) with the correct manufacturer’s coding. The coding process takes less than 1 minute, and after which the transceiver module will be able to work on the user’s equipment. This coding process can be done many times as long as the license key is obtained from the authorized partner/ reseller for each process.
